Imperial loses appeal against tobacco display ban

Thu 2nd February, 2012

An appeal by a leading tobacco company against plans to ban the display of tobacco in Scotland has been rejected by judges.

At the Court of Appeal in Edinburgh three judges upheld an earlier appeal that ruled none of the grounds submitted by Imperial were valid and the legislation should stand. Imperial could now take the matter to the Supreme Court in London.
